Directions to Practices and Guild Sessions

For those that are members of Phasiana lacus Manerium directions to practices have already been given. For those that are new to Phasiani lacus Manerium, please email Lady Christiana for specific directions to events and practices that may occur on private lands. Event and practices of Phasiani lacus Manerium on public lands will be posted on this web blog.

Events and Demos



End of Summer Knight 2012



Event: End of Summer Knight - This is an outdoor event -

Location: 126 Fishlake Road, Summerland- British Columbia

Date and Time: September 14th, 15th and 16th (2012) Gate opens 2 PM September 14th and will close 6 PM September 16th 2012. Event is subject to approval by graces, however dates are locked in.

Site Fees: Estimate 10.00 dollars per person but may be less - to offset cost of portable toliet rental - children under 12 free accompany by adult.

Autocrat: Lady Christiana Elizabeth Constable of ye Phasiani lacus Manerium

Site Rules: Small pets are allowed, however must be leashed at all times and under supervision as per land owner's rules. Allowable weight is 20 lbs. Please note that it will be your responsiblity to look after your pet for its do dos and feed and shetter pet. Fires must be in above ground braziers and must have a way to be extingish, and candles must be not left attended and is applicable to fire regulations as set forth by British Columbia fire regulations and will apply will apply at time of event. Sheds, main house, and wood piles are off limits to all unless permission given by autocrat. What you bring please take out. Please note that the brook maybe running but at this time of the usually is not be running, however there are rose bushes and large rocks within the brookbed. Please NO BARE FOOT, shoes a must for children. As the site was agriculture there may be other inherited dangers not mention within text, therefore footwear is a must.

Site Amendies: Water potable however does have over 2 parts uramiun in water. If kidney problems please bring bottle water. Electricity is available but is limited and there will be a charge of 2.00 dollar per day for the use of power. This is limited to 2 camp site.

Directions: Make your best to Summerland, British Columbia - follow signs from the intersection of Rossdale and Hwy 97. (DETOUR) Due to construction on Prairie Valley Road to begin August 2012 through to 2013 (water lines, underground electrical, sanitation, sidewalks and  road re-alignment), please be informed that directions to site have changed. When coming into Summerland (from North - turn right at first set of lights -- from South turn left at third set of lights - (Petro Canada). Proceed to 1 block make right on Quinpool Road, (right hand side - Ambulance station) -- you will be heading West. Proceed to end of Road, and follow around turn (Kenyon) and proceed to Stop. Take yeild to right proceed to end of Jubilee Road turn left at stop onto Cartwright Ave and follow to end where you will make right onto Prairie Valley Road. Proceed west to yeild and make right turn and proceed up hill around curve and make right onto Princeton Summerland Road. Stay to pavement and travel for five Km. where one will make a right onto Fishlake Road. ( two story gray building with chain link, must be on your left) 1 mile north driveway to left.

Vehicles and Wagons - must be parked outside the fence after unloading. RV and trailor sites will be east of the white building on south side of driveway. No vehicle parking will be allowed on driveway or at front entrance to house. No camp set up will be allowed north of driveway as this will be the tourney fields.

Note: White building may have renovations completed at time of event. Renovations will be completed A and S and court will take place inside

Schedule: tentative

Friday September 14th 2012:
- site opens 2 PM
- setup and
- 6:00 PM socialization (special event planned for Friday night, so please bring your singing voice and if one plays a musical instrument - please bring.

Saturday September 15th 2012: - Opening Court, Time to be determine for marshal arts, A and S, and archery by conferrence with royals and marshals along with theme. This will be touney style. Pot luck feast - 5:30 PM at bard fire. Archery plans are for the deer hunt, and followed by the fox in the henhouse. This is a 3D archery shoot. Due to the width of the property and that it is fence in on both side with no climb fencing, there will be no combat archery.

Sunday September 16th 2012: - any unfinish business to be completed: awards, and closing court . Site closes 6:00 PM.

Special note: For those that help in setting up for Thursday September 13th and Friday morning September 14th will allow early camping. Speak with the autocrat.

Autocrat's - special challenge - As the event is design around the hunt and the harvest, one may wish to try something a little different. The challenge is in the arts and science and should have the theme on either the hunt or the harvest. (This is optional). 2nd challenge is a persona being protrayed --- If one wishes to attempt this please get in touch with your autocrat for the event of the End of Summer Knight.

The Woodcarvers Guild

Woodcarvers Guild of Connacht - Guild Master Kasper Magnessum will inform ye members of locations and times and shall be posted and or email by a representative of the Guild Master or by the Guild Master of the Woodcarvers Guild.

The guild master will set up the times and practices of the woodcarvers guild - usually form late spring to early fall. Locations and times will be posted when available.One must be a member of the AdrianEmpire to join The Woodcarvers Guild.



Ownership: All supplies, patterns and tools brought in by the member is the members personal items, and as such will solely be the responsiblity of the member's to take care of. If stored at Christiana's or Kaspers's residence, the owner and agents will not be held responsible for lost or damage of items and tools. Agent been Kasper or Christiana pending location of practice. Permission must be sought before one can store their personal property at the practice site.

Injury to self: Kasper or and Lady Christiana and or the property site agent and owners will not be held accountable for your injury. All pre-caution shall be observed to prevent injuries and accidents as per Kasper's rules on Woodcarving practices.

Pets and Children: During these sessions NO PETS PLEASE as we will be using an indoor venue for our sessions. Unless children are interested in learning, and can show that they are responsible for their actions please leave with a baby sitter. Kasper and Christiana will not supply baby sitters for either children or and pets. Please note if the child is under 19, will have to be accompany by a legal guardin or legal parrent. No child to be left unattended.

The practice of making costumes as historically accurate as possible from 1066 to 1603AD - Western European Culture. Sessions on making garb will be posted within this blog, and on the vestiarium webblog for location and times. Most sessions will take place at Phaisiani lacus Manerium hall.
One must be a member of the AdrianEmpire to join vestiarium Guild.

Charter has been approved by their graces of the Arch Duchy of Connacht as of Jan 2012.


Practices and Sessions: vestiarium Guild meet on the first and third Sunday of the month from noon till 4 PM, unless the session falls on an event or demo. For those that are in the vestiarium, it is recommended to bring an item and something you are working on to a demo if the demo lands on a Sunday.

Requirements: One must have an interest within the art of making historical clothing for their persona. Please note, that no equipment from Christiana will be loaned out, as her equipment is used in her mundane occupation. Sewing machines are acceptable for making garments, but if entering garments in Arts and Sciences it is recommended to hand sew the entire garment, and to by option embellish either by embellishments and or embroidery if needed. All who are attending will be responsible for providing their own thread, fabrics, tools and needles, sewing machines, closures and other necessary equipment as deem neccessary.

Phasiani lacus Manerium also has two other practice sessions of interest for those that may be interested. It is open to all that are Adrian Empire members that have interest in these fields.


Phasiani lacus Manerium Embroidery and Embellishments


Meetings and Sessions - Usually will take place at events and or demos. Training in embroidery and embellishment techniques can be attained occassionally from classes, and on one to one. Please ask Lady Christiana for further information on this practice. Please note that it may also be offered with vestiarium Guild.

Phasiani lacus Manerium Culinary Arts


A site that will have a Medieval Culinary Recipe posted on average of one receipe a month. Sometimes will meet with others of like mind at events and demos and members may act as feast autocrats for events and or demos.

Marshal Arts Practices - currently Phasiani lacus Manerium offers no marshal arts practices in shinni, rein and live steel. Practices are listed on the Connacht website under http://www.connacht.ca under calendar of events. Click on agenda to fine location and times. Usually fight practices are on second Thurdays.

Phasiani lacus Manerium Archery Practices


Archery Target Practices of Phasiani lacus Manerium


Types of Practice Outdoors - archery range can be moved from either the upper bench to the lower bench pending on the tam of the practice. Practives to include the deer hunt - the shooting of a 3 D rubber target. The billard ball at 20 yard. The fox in the hen house, where one will shoot between mock up chickens to strike a 3 D rubber fox, and the deer behind the tree or rock tecknique - 3 D rubber deer and William Tell.


Owners and Agents Land Policies - The owner of the site and or its agents will not be held responsiblity of broken arrows, and or bows, and is by the owners and agent discression to cancel said practice account of bad weather, and or other mundane issues that may arrise. During archery practice NO PETS ARE ALLOWED ON SITE: No pets to run loose and must be contained after practice. Owners and agents of practice site will not be held accountable for your pets. Best - please leave your pets at home. All other times pets must be leashed and the owner of the pet must clean up behind it, and what ever other requirements that your pet may need.


Invitation - The range is by invitiation of members of Phasiani lacus Manerium, and the practice shall not be consider an official practice of the Adrian Empire, but will follow the same protocals and laws set down by same.


Practice Times and Sessions - Practices begin usually the first weekend of April on a Sunday and run through to the first Sunday of November from 9:30 AM to 11:45 AM. Rules of the game will be decided at time of practice by Phasiani lacus Manerium tam.


Cancellations: Archery practice can be cancelled due to events and or demos that Connacht may put on time to time, and also may be cancelled due to foul weather events. For weather please click on http://www.theweathernetwork.com than enter city of Summerland, B.C. to attain the weather for the day. If there are no shows due to lack of participation the practice will be cancelled after 10AM for the day but will resume on schedule for future practices. If I Christiana have your email, you will be notify if the practice is cancelled due to other reasons, but for the most these practices will take place.


Location: Practice gathering will meet at south cover entrance patio prior to practice. All equipment for archery will be inspected. Parking is available beside shed with porch or by the white building in the lower field. No parking on the grass will be accepted between white building and main house. One may also choose to park on the side of the road if they wish.
